Meeting with Gela Charkviani
On 22 June a meeting with Gela Charkviani, Georgian diplomat, writer, educator and television personality was held at the Information Center on NATO and EU, organized by the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training and Research Institute. Within the framework of the meeting Gela Charkviani shared his multiyear academic and diplomatic experience with the audition and answered their questions.
A short course - “History of Diplomacy in Modern Georgia”
The Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training and Research Institute devotes special attention to the provision of the information about the profession of Diplomat to young people, by organizing lectures on the relevant topics. A Series of Lectures – “Meeting with the Ambassador”
On 1 June, the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training and Research Institute launched a series of lectures – “Meeting with the Ambassador”. The first lecture was delivered by the former Ambassador of Georgia to China, Bulgaria and Ukraine and Permanent Representative to GUAM, Mikheil Ukleba and the former Ambassador of Georgia to Denmark and Iceland. They spoke about the modern history of Georgia and the Ambassador’s practical activities.
Short Course - "Policy Development and Analysis Skill for International Relations"
On 30 May, a course on “Policy Development & Analysis Skills for International Relations” was launched at NATO Liaison Office, organized by the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training and Research institute in cooperation with the NATO-Georgia Professional Development Programme. The course is conducted by Michael Roberts, consultant and coach, specialising in EU and international affairs and Shorena Lortkipanidze, Board Member of the Civil Council on Defense and Security.

On 15 May, Daryl Copeland, Senior Fellow at the Canadian Global Affairs Institute, former Canadian diplomat, analyst and consultant delivered a lecture about the “Diplomacy in the 21st Century: Best Practices and Emerging Trends”, at the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training and Research Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
Open Door Day at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia
On 8 May, in the framework of the events planned in connection with the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the First Democratic Republic of Georgia, the second Open Door Day on „Profession of Diplomat“ was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training and Research Institute for the students from the Tbilisi Public Schools, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
A Lecture on “Health System in Georgia”
On 4 May, a lecture on “Health System in Georgia” was delivered at the Levan Mikeladze Training and Research Institute by Ketevan Goginashvili, Head of Health Policy Division, Health Care Department, Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia. The lecture was attended by the foreign diplomats accredited to Georgia, as well as the representatives from the International Women’s Association (IWA).
Memorandum of Understanding with the Parliament of Georgia
On 3 May, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training and Research Institute and the Parliament of Georgia at the Tbilisi Palace of the Parliament of Georgia. The MoU was signed by Tinatin Bregvadze, Acting Head of the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training and Research Institute and Givi Mikanadze, Secretary General of the Parliament of Georgia.

Visit of the Director of the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine and the Ambassador of Ukraine
On 27 March, Mrs. Tinatin Bregvadze, Deputy Director of the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training Centre and H. E. Mr. Sergiy Korsunskiy, Director of the Hennadii Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU envisages sharing of knowledge and learning methodologies, exchange of academic personnel and other types of cooperation between the given institutions.

On 5-7 March, a Training of Trainers (ToT) on Consular Crisis Management was conducted at the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training Centre. The ToT was implemented in cooperation with the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) within the Framework of the EU funded project “Migrants in Countries in Crisis: Supporting an Evidance-based Approach for Effective and Cooperative State Action”.

On 20 July, 2017, within the framework of the annual Ambassadorial meeting, a special cultural and educational programme for the spouses of Georgian Ambassadors was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. Working Meeting of the TOT Participants
On 14 June, 2017, a working meeting was held at the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training Centre of the MFA attended by the participants of the Training of Trainers (TOT) on Intercultural Communications organized in 2015-2017, by the DTC in cooperation with the NATO-Georgia Professional Development Programme (NATO-PDP). The Event Dedicated to the 60th Anniversary of H.E. Levan Mikeladze.
On 23 May the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training Centre organized an event dedicated to the 60th anniversary of H.E. Levan Mikeladze. It should be noted that the Diplomatic Training Centre was named after famous Georgian diplomat, Levan Mikeladze on 24 April, 2014. The event was opened by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, David Zalkaliani. He spoke about the special contribution of H. E. Levan Mikeladze to his homeland and the achievements of the Diplomatic Training Centre.

26 January, Ms. Irine Makhatadze and Nadia Chatzimichelakis, the wife and the daughter of the late Greek Ambassador to Georgia, H.E. George Chatzimichelakis donated to the Diplomatic Training Centre books on the diplomacy, politics and international relations of the Ambassador’s personal library.

On 10 November a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training Centre (DTC) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Business and Economic Centre (BEC) was signed. For the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training Centre the MoU was signed by Ms. Maia Kipshidze, Director of the DTC and for the Business and Economic Centre – by Ms. Natia Katsiashvili, Director of the BEC.

On 2 November, the Diplomatic Training Centre hosted a lecture on “NATO-Georgia Relations”, presented by Mr. Teimuraz Kekelidze, Deputy Head of the Department of Security Policy and Euro-Atlantic Integration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. The series of lectures “About Georgia” has renewed at the Diplomatic Training Centre. On 24 october Mikhel Tsereteli (Deputy Director of Georgian National Museum) delivered the lecture on “Georgian Museums”. Diplomats accredited in Georgia, their spouses and representatives of International Women Association (IWA) attended the lecture.
Public Lecture – “American Elections from Independence to Today”
On 20 October a public lecture – “American Elections from Independence to Today” was presented by John C. Fortier, invited expert by the USA Embassy, Director of Bipartisan Policy Center’s (BPC) Democracy project. During the lecture he discussed the special characteristics of the American electoral process and the upcoming elections in America.
Short Course - "Georgia and the European Union"
On 10 Octomber, the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training Centre started a seminar – “Georgia and European Union”. MoU with the Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs of ANU
On 23 September, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training Centre and the Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs of Australian National University in Canberra (Australia). The MoU envisages a close cooperation on exchange of information and experiences concerning their respective programmes of study and research, various courses, seminars and other academic, educational and training activities.

On 28 July, a special programme for the spouses of Georgian Ambassadors was held in the framework of the annual Ambassadorial. A cultural and educational programme was aimed at encouraging spouses to participate actively in the promotion of Georgia in their countries of residence. On 24 May “Introductory Course in Diplomacy and International Relations”, launched at the Diplomatic Training Centre on 19 April, was completed. 18 representatives of the newly created Department of Security of Georgian Diplomatic Representations and Consular Offices Abroad participated in the programme.

On 22 March, the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training Centre conducted the meeting with the representatives of the Human Resources Departments of different Public Entities. Closing Ceremony of the Eu Funded Project "Capacity Building in International Relations, Georgia"
After twenty-seven months work, supporting the development of the closer relationship between Georgia and the European Union, the project: “Capacity Building in International Relations, Georgia” was closed on 5 February, 2016. The project was funded by the European Union through its European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI).
